Erickson

Nick

I studied rhetoric and writing before I did much else, and it's shaped everything since — how I notice things, how I try to make sense of them, how I try to say them clearly. These days that shows up in a podcast, a camera, a fermenting batch of something in the basement, and more speculative fiction than I'll ever actually finish reading.

This site isn't a resume. It's closer to a record of what I'm paying attention to — the questions I'm chasing on the podcast, the photos I take when the light cooperates, and the handful of ideas I keep circling back to.

Core Values

Ashe.

Intention into action.

Ashe: a term in Yoruba tradition, is often understood as the life force or energy that allows things to happen. It's used as an affirmation that what is spoken carries weight, and intention turns into action. The connection here is, admittedly, coincidental. But it tracks as a simple way to remember my values and what I expect from the teams I build.

Attentiveness

Most people aren't paying attention, I prefer being the one who is.

Service

Lead with generosity, leave things better.

Honesty

The kind that counts, even when it costs.

Empathy

See the human first, in the best and worst of times.

About Me

A fuller picture.

I co-host a philosophy podcast with curious friends, brew wine with my wife, read speculative fiction, and shoot photography when light and patience align. I hold onto a Swedish word — Lycklig — which translates simultaneously to happiness, luck, and success (I believe that's the right order).

The North Star Podcast

About philosophy, religion, and meaning with curious friends asking better questions than we have answers to.

Speculative Fiction

Lifelong reader. Stories that challenge imagination and explore what it means to be human in strange circumstances.

Homebrewing

Brewing wine with my wife — an ongoing experiment in patience, chemistry, and waiting for something to become what it's supposed to be.

Photography

Landscapes, quiet moments, light doing interesting things. Shooting teaches you to notice what's already there.

Partner in Crime

My wife Amanda Wang-Erickson runs AWE Designs — branding, illustration & art. Together, we partner on marketing programs that combine strategy, systems, and storytelling — I build the engine, she brings the brand to life. If you’re looking for both the infrastructure to grow and the creative to stand out, we occasionally take on projects together.

Getting Connected

What Happens After You Reach Out

01

You'll hear from me directly — not an assistant — Every message gets a personal reply from me.

02

If it makes sense, we'll find 30 minutes — A short call — no pitch deck, no formalities. Just a conversation.

03

We go from there with full information — A clear "not the right fit right now" is a better outcome than ambiguity for either of us.
